We love them.  Full stop.  

That's why we feel grief.  

Grief is not a pathological condition.  We feel great grief where there is great love. 

It's authentic, it's ours.  

Joanne Cacciatore PhD, author of Bearing the Unbearable has written, "Fully inhabited grief leads to transformation."  I feel the truth of this.  But it's not easy.  In fact, it may be 

the very hardest thing.  

On January 19th, the 8-month anniversary of my beloved Monty leaving his body behind, I will begin hosting a Grief is Love animal grief support group. During 60-minute zoom gatherings, we will have opportunities to share our feelings, experiences, and our memories. Together we’ll explore self-care techniques, Animal Reiki meditation (based on Kathleen Prasad’s Let Animals Lead® method), and other practices and methods that help us to connect to our essential selves, to inhabit our grief, and to quiet enough to hear the still small voice within, where we may connect with the eternal essence of our beloved animals in spirit. 

This is a voluntary donation-based group, with suggested donation levels of $5 (love), $15 (more love), or $25 (pay it forward love) per meeting. 100% of proceeds will go into the newly created Monty’s Love Fund. This fund will be used to help support the healing of rescue animals, in honor of Monty, my BFF rescue mutt. 

It's one way I bring him with me forward into the world.

Whether your loss is new or old in the timeline of life, the love is still there.
